Start with volume
Calculate the project's cubic yards before comparing prices. A cheap per-yard quote can still cost more after delivery or short-load charges, while bags require substantially more handling and mixing.
Compare like with like
For bagged mix, multiply the number of whole bags required by the local bag price. For ready-mix, multiply cubic yards by the quoted per-yard price and then add any supplier fees.
